Exciting GRAMMY News for Litchfield Jazz Camp Alumni and Faculty!

We’re thrilled to announce that several artists connected to the Litchfield Jazz Camp have received GRAMMY nominations this year, a testament to their extraordinary impact on the world of jazz.

  • Best Latin Jazz Album: Zaccai Curtis, who began at Litchfield Jazz Camp and remains a dedicated teacher, is nominated for Cubop Lives! in the Latin Jazz category.
  • Best Jazz Instrumental Album & Best Jazz Performance: Phoenix Reimagined (Live) by Lakecia Benjamin, featuring Randy Brecker, Jeff “Tain” Watts, and John Scofield, is nominated in two categories. Lakecia, a former Litchfield camper, continues to break new ground in jazz.
  • Best Jazz Performance: Dan Pugach and his Big Band earned a nomination for “Little Fears,” featuring Nicole Zuraitis and Troy Roberts. Nicole, who started at Litchfield Jazz Camp at age 12 and now teaches there, and Troy, a current camp teacher, bring their exceptional talents to this standout track.
  • Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album: Orrin Evans and his Captain Black Big Band celebrate their third nomination with Walk A Mile In My Shoe. Orrin, a current teacher at the camp, brings his profound expertise to the next generation of jazz musicians.
