Litchfield Jazz Camp – Session 4 (July 22nd – July 26th)

Big Band Focus

Litchfield Jazz Camp has a long history of bringing summertime jazz education programs to students at all levels of play. LJC brings students together for a non-competitive, highly educational, fun and immersive experience and pairs them with some of the best pros active on the scene today. Although we have always focused on smaller combos, we have had requests for a larger band experience and are responding this summer for the first time with a new option at LJC during Session 4 (July 22nd – July 26th) only.

This summer, for our 28th anniversary and for the first time, we are happy to give students the option of joining the LJC Big Band! The Big Band will meet both in the morning and in the afternoon, at the same time combos meet, and enjoy all the other classes LJC offers – theory, masterclass, special guests and more.

Please note : The LJC Big Band option will be available during Session 4 ONLY. Space is extremely limited. Sized as a traditional Big Band, the LJC Band will include a full rhythm section (drums, bass, piano and guitar), 4 trombones, 4 trumpets and 5 saxophones. As always, there will be no pre “audition” to participate. All you have to do is register for Week 4 and upon arrival more info will be available.

Big Band will be led by some of our amazing faculty. Rehearsals will happen daily from 4:30-5:20.
