LITCHFIELD JAZZ CAMPERS WHO ARE NOW PROS

Since 1997 Litchfield Jazz Camp has been “raising” the next generation of jazz musicians.  Hundreds and hundreds of jazz campers have come through our doors, and nearly two generations of them are all grown up and getting on with their lives.  We hear from lots of them. They have mostly been to college, many on scholarships, some for music talent and some for academic achievement.  Today they are software engineers, doctors, videographers, lawyers, and more. No surprise here, a sizable percentage are now professional musicians.

They pop up everywhere.  They play with some of the outstanding performers of the day and lead their own bands.  They often hire each other. Their former camp teachers hire them; then, they hire their teachers. Many if not most are now parents and we are looking forward to having their children, when they enter their teen, as Litchfield Jazz Campers as well.  And the beat goes on.

This is a listing of names and bios of all the jazz professionals who were campers once upon a time.  Some remained close enough that we kept up with them and hired them ourselves for Litchfield Jazz Camp, Festival and other gigs. Others we rediscovered doing their thing and doing it well.  Undoubtedly, we missed some.  If you belong in this list or know someone who does and has been overlooked, please contact them.  We are hoping to build a comprehensive list of Litchfield Campers Who are Now Pros in the hope they stay in touch with us and with each other.  We would like to see this list serve as the basis for a web-based Alumni/ae association that will makes it simple for our former camper-musicians to reach out to each other wherever they live. Why do one thing when you can do ten I always say!
