Litchfield Jazz Camp
Registration for summer 2024 has been open since November and students are coming in at a clip. The camp is hosted by The Frederick Gunn School, a private day and boarding school on a safe, beautiful campus in Washington, CT. LJC welcomes musicians age 13 and up. Those who register by January 31 enjoy substantial savings along with the opportunity to study with a first-rate faculty of performing, recording and touring artist-educators. LJC is a place where all students feel comfortable, whatever their level, ethnicity, gender or socioeconomic background. Those who can pay do; those who can’t may qualify for need-based scholarship. LJC embraces children of all learning styles. There are no grades and no competition– just great music, a lot of learning, camaraderie and fun.

This is a great opportunity for school groups and for enterprising people with lots of digital or real friends.
LJC encourages families seriously interested in having their student attend to apply promptly for reasons other than savings alone. Because the camp teaches in small bands (combos), the number of rhythm section players is limited by the number of combos they can accommodate. Places for pianists, bassists and drummers—the rhythm section—fill quickly: each combo has only one, and there is no doubling up on those instruments. Additionally, rooms are singles so boarding (92% of students board) space is limited.
