Litchfield Jazz Camp Talent Search Announcement!

Litchfield Jazz Camp, the teaching arm of Litchfield Jazz Festival, is preparing for its 28th summer season with a new and exciting lead in.  On March 2, 2024 the Camp is hosting its very first talent competition, The Litchfield Jazz Camp Talent Search.  Students ages 13-17 are encouraged to apply on-line at https://litchfieldjazzcamp.com/ljc-talent-search/

Up to 30 finalists will be selected on the basis of a short video to be submitted 

along with the application and a processing fee of $30. Families with incomes below $50,000 can ask to have the application fee waived (call 860-361-6285). 

Finals will be held from  2 – 6PM on Saturday, March 2, at the Litchfield Community Center, 421 Bantam Rd (Rt 202).  Finalists will perform for a distinguished panel of judges including musician-educators Albert Rivera (SUNY Purchase), Don Braden (Harvard) and Kris Allen (Williams), and Vita Muir,  Founder and Executive Director of Litchfield Jazz Camp and Festival.

The first-prize winner of the Litchfield Jazz Camp Talent Search will receive a full scholarship to Litchfield Jazz Camp for the week of July 7 – 12 . This includes all classes, room, meals, books, Camp shirt and a private lesson with a faculty member (value $2000+).  The second and third place winners will each receive a 50% scholarship (value $1000).
