Scholarships Available – New Funding for Hartford Students

Litchfield Jazz Camp, turning out tomorrow’s jazz stars for the past 20 years, proudly announces a program for younger students –LITCHFIELD JAZZ CAMP KIDS. Thanks to support from Connecticut Community Foundation and from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving Beatrice Fox Auerbach Fund we are accepting campers as day or residential students with generous need-based scholarship support. Students ages 8 to 11, with or without prior experience, may apply for Litchfield Jazz Camp Kids running July 10 – 14 at Canterbury School, New Milford.

Litchfield Jazz Camp proper, the world renowned 21-year-old institution also held at Canterbury, is running from July 9 to August 4.  It is still accepting students 12 – 18 in all four sessions.  Thanks to a recent grant from the Beatrice Fox Auerbach Fund, students from Hartford may request support.

The new Camp program takes a relaxed approach to music instruction by experience childhood music educators. There is a strong focus on singing as well as instruments.  A student concert closes the session on July 14. All campers are also invited to perform on the student stage at the Litchfield Jazz Festival on August 5th at Goshen Fairgrounds.
