Master Classes at LJC

August 3

3PM

Maguire Auditorium, Canterbury School

Open to the public as well as jazz campers

Litchfield Jazz Camp is thrilled to welcome back the lovely and talented bassist/vocalist Nicki Parrott. Nicki enjoyed a 10-year association with the great Les Paul, performing in his trio every Monday night at the Iridium. The Les Paul Foundation was established to support and honor the life, spirit and legacy of Les Paul.  It does this by inspiring innovative and creative thinking, sharing the legacy of Les Paul through support of music education, recording, innovation and medical research related to hearing. Our students have been the beneficiaries of this mission for the past four years with scholarships provided by this generous foundation.

Nicki Parrott will tell us her wonderful and personal story of the great musician/innovator and share images and music.  She’ll be visiting camp combos, and, at 3PM, deliver her talk, followed by a concert with her musical colleagues from the Litchfield Jazz Camp Faculty. The public is invited to join our campers free of charge for this event.

Nicki has taught a Litchfield Jazz Camp and played the Festival with Les Paul’s Trio.  This year she appears alongside Ken Peplowski and others on Saturday at 7:45, preceded by an Artist Talk at 6:30.

This presentation is funded by The Les Paul Foundation.
