Litchfield Jazz Camp has been a special place for musical and personal growth for 23 years. We accommodate day and boarding students at the Gunnery School in Washington CT. Ages 13 up may apply. All levels are welcome: at a minimum, the student must play an instrument and know the notes.  The program teaches in small group settings, an arrangement Home Schooled children will find familiar and comfortable.

Our top-notch faculty teaches skill-matched groups in a supportive, collaborative atmosphere. There is no pre-audition, and we embrace all learning styles.  Placement auditions are held when the student arrives to ensure he or she is assigned to a combo that is just right. Performance opportunities abound.  Private lessons are available. All students are invited to play at the Litchfield Jazz Festival OuterFest. Group discounts may available for some weeks.

In addition to classes in ensemble playing, jazz theory and master classes which focus on individual instruments, Litchfield Jazz Campers can add a weekly electives like R & B Band, sight reading and jazz history and more. There are playing fields and time allotted for fitness activities like yoga, pick up sports and basketball. During the third week of camp, students thinking about college and families can attend our College Night where a dozen top schools are represented.

Litchfield Campers go on to great futures—college, scholarships, awards, and professional careers in music.  Your child can be one of them!
